Lots of new exciting features!

It's been another couple of weeks of frantic development at Dukesbox. A shiny new forum that actually fits in with the rest of the site for starters! You no longer need to register for a separate account to make posts to our forum. Instead just login with your standard Dukesbox.com user name and password, click 'Community' on the top navigation bar and then you can join the discussion!Private Game Series

Whats this 'Private Matches' option thats appeared on my menu I hear you cry! Well thats a whole new way of playing, and as far as we know, is something thats never been done before on a skill gaming website! With this feature you can select a huge number of options for a private game series. Some examples of the things you can change are:

  Entrance Cost - The amount people pay to enter the game series
• 
  Game - The game that will be played in the game series
• 
  Number of Games - The number of games in the game series
• 
  Score Mode - Whether its the highest combined score or single highest score that wins!
• 
  Reward Type - Winner takes all, or a prize for everyone, your choice
• 
  Entrance Cost - The amount people pay to enter the game series
• 
  Lots more options - Im worried about boring you all so will cut this list short

So what does all this stuff mean for you? Well for a start it means that you can now play skill gaming for as little as 1p per game! This is because we only take 10p per player per private game series. Also this style of gaming gives you all more chance to get to know each other better as each private game series will have a message board that you can talk to each other on.
This brings me nicely on to another new feature, User Pages. Now whenever you play against someone, you can click on their avatar and see their personalized page. On top of this you can write in their guest book and invite them to be you friend, which makes starting your own private series with them much easier :)

The final new feature worth mentioning is the new deposit options. Not only can you still deposit with Google Checkout, but now you can also deposit directly on the site, or through Paypal Express. All 3 of which are fully secure and we will not charge you any extra transaction fees for using them.

All this and we're not even close to thinking about slowing down the development on the site. Over the next few weeks expect a few new games! As usual any comments at all, please feel free to reply to this post

£2393.60 to be won now on our Tetris Like Game!

Its been a very busy couple of weeks here at Dukesbox.com and whilst some of the changes have been quite small and probably gone unnoticed, others have been huge and we hope will greatly improve your time here! Regular visitors cant of helped but notice the latest addition to our games lineup - Jeweltris!

This is a tetris like game where you have to arrange groups of different shaped blocks to fit in a grid. However thats where the similarities between our Jeweltris and regular Tetris end. To score in our game you have to arrange similarily coloured gems into groups of 3 or more, at which point they explode and cause all the blocks above them to fall down.
Also in Jeweltris, dont expect the blocks to behave as they might in Tetris. Our blocks will continue to fall until they hit the ground, even if other parts of the block group have found a place to rest themselves! So expect to see your block groups falling apart as they hit the ground and different places.

The other major change to the site has been the introduction of multi round knock out cups. These are still 1 vs 1 games but take places over a number of rounds. The winner from each 1 vs 1 game will progress on to the next round and the loser is well.... knocked out. This has lead to the opportunity for big prizes on our site! The best example we have of this at the moment is our The Crown Jeweltris Knockout Cup where the top prize is a whopping £2393.60! But dont think you have to win all 13 rounds to win big in this tournament. In most bigger tournaments, you will have a chance to win an amount each round. For example if you make it past round 4 in this tournament, you'll have more than doubled your money. Make it to round 10, you'll have won over £150 (remember you pay just £2 to enter this!). Make it to round 12 and you'll have won nearly £1200!

If you dont think you've done yourself justice in a major cup competition, usually you'll be given the chance to enter it more than once. You can see how many times you've entered the cup by clicking on the 'view' link in the multi round cups menu on any game.
There has been literally hundreds of other small improvements to the site which have all been a bit less interesting so wont bore you with them now! Lots more in the pipeline over the next couple of weeks so expect a new game, and a whole new innovation to skill gaming soon!

The Launch!

After a year of almost constant development of this site, finally dukesbox.com has now been launched! A skill gaming site with a unique difference is now finally available to the public! We feature some well known traditional games that are well loved as well as new and innovative challenging games for you to get your head round!

Whats so different about us then?

Other skill gaming sites on the web take approximatley 25% of a players stake to cover their 'management fees' for each game. So if you played £5 to play a game against an opponent, the biggest prize you would expect to win would be £7.50! We're all keen skill gamers ourselves here at Dukesbox.com, and we didnt think this was fair! Our pricing model ensures that the prize money goes to those who actually earn it, you, the user! We charge a simple flat rate of just 10p per game! So whereas if you staked £10 on a competitors website, you may receive £15 back if you won, on our site you'll have the chance to win £19.80 of the same stake!

Despite our low management fees, we fully intent to surpass our competitors on our levels of customer services. We believe you shouldnt have to wait two weeks in order to receive payment, we'll pay you in one! We dont expect you to have to wait for an eternity to hear from our helpful and friendly customer support staff, if you need to make an enquiry, the expected time of response will be displayed to you immediatley.

That brings us on to the games! For our launch lineup we've got a bit of a mix of much loved games as well as some new and exciting games. We dont intend on resting just yet however. Over the next few months our crack team of developers will be working tirelessly to bring you more games to help you enjoy your visits to Dukesbox.com just that little bit more!
